Finnland etabliert derzeit ein Programm zur Förderung von Innovationen im Produktionsbereich, wobei internationale Kooperationen angestrebt werden. Ollli Ventä (VTT) und Seppo Tikkanen (FIMECC) waren in Wien bei ARTEMIS Austria, um ihre Aktivitäten zu präsentieren und mit den Mitgliedern zu diskutieren.

Am 11. August 2010 wurde der Verein zur Förderung der österreichischen Embedded Systems Technologie (European Technology Platform for Embedded Intelligence and Systems - Austria) gegründet.

Die konstituierende Sitzung fand am 17. September 2010 statt. In ihr wurden zum Obmann Dr. Josef Affenzeller, sowie zum Obmann Stellvertreter Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Pree gewählt.

Die Gründungsmitglieder sind:

• TTTech
• Universität Salzburg
• WindRiver

Bis Mitte 2011 wird die Verdoppelung der Mitgliederanzahl angestrebt.
